Here we have collected the most common questions you ask us. Feel free to contact us if there is something missing or you think we should include.

Lift pass

- Can we buy our lift passes at your facility?

All lift passes must be purchased online, and in Hafjell you can also get help buying your lift pass at the guest center at Skitorget. We charge a service fee of NOK 95 per pass for all purchases at our checkout, but are happy to help you buy your lift pass online if you need help with this.

- Can I use an old lift pass and top it up?

Yes, as long as the card has a card number (WTP card number) on the back and the card is an AXESS card, it can be used again. Select "Top up ski pass" in the shopping cart. Read more about buying ski passes here.

- Can I top up 0-6 years old on an existing lift pass?

If you are going to buy this alone, it must be purchased together with a new Axess WTP card with a card number. You cannot top up 0-6 years on an existing card you have online without other cards in the order. This is because purchases in NOK 0 are not possible.

- Can I buy a card with any day in season?

Yes, but these are not available in the online store, so these cards must be purchased at the guest center.

- I have topped up cards online. Do they need to be activated before I can use them?

No, just go in the lift and the card will be activated in the lift card reader. Read more about buying lift passes here.

- I have bought a new card online, where do I pick it up?

Then you have received a confirmation by email with a QR code you scan in the pick-up boxes outside the guest center at Skitorget in Hafjell, Gondoltoppen (when disembarking) or at Gaia.

- How do I buy a lift pass?

Ski passes must be purchased online. Here you can choose between a new ski pass or topping up an existing one. If you want to buy a new one, select "New ski pass" in the drop-down menu. If you want to top up an existing card, select "Top up ski pass". Then you can fill in the card number on the back of the card. Older cards say WTP. You can also scan the QR code on the back of the ski pass using a camera on your phone. Then it fills in the card number itself. See this page for help buying lift passes online.

- I have bought a lift pass on a given day, but see bad weather has been reported. Can I get a refund for the card?

We only refund unused cards in the event of illness against a doctor's certificate no later than one day before. Contact the guest center at Hafjell@Hafjell.no

- We have been skiing for Hafjell , but several of the lifts had to close due to bad weather or technical problems. Will we get a refund for the card(s)?

This depends entirely on how many of the lifts are closed and for how long. There are separate refund rules for service interruptions in the facility, which you can read more about in our terms of sale here.

- Does the lift pass work in Kvitfjell and Oppdal as well?

Yes, it does. All cards are valid in Hafjell, Kvitfjell and Oppdal. You can choose where you want to ski, whether you want to ski all day in Hafjell or take half the day in Kvitfjell or Oppdal. If you buy multi-day passes, these can be spread over the two mountains.

No. Children under the age of 10, or 140 cm, must be accompanied by an adult in a chairlift/gondola.

- Can I ride with my backpack on in the chairlift?

No. All backpacks, large or small, should be stored on your lap in front of you or on a vacant seat next to you. This is to avoid the backpack taking up space in your seat, hooking in the elevator when getting on/off, and so on. The safety of our guests always comes first.

- Why are there different opening hours on the lifts?

There are different times on the elevators down at the bottom of the facility and up at the top. This is due to several things, including lighting in the facility. We open later before January due to the need for lighting than we do after January. So this is for practical reasons, first and foremost. See our opening hours here.

- Can we take the gondola to Gondoltoppen/Favn and on to the top of Hafjell if we only want to go cross-country skiing?

Yes, then you can buy a single ticket with the gondola and a single ticket with Hafjell 360. This can be purchased online. For information, one single ticket with the gondola also includes the Moseter lift.

- Is it free to take the gondola back down to the bottom of the facility?

Yes, it is. You do not need a ticket for this.

- Do you need a lift pass to ride in the children's slope/Knerten at the bottom of the facility, Kids Favn or on Kids Gaia?

Knerten, which is located at the bottom of Hafjell Alpine Center, you need a lift pass to ride in. While the other belt lifts at Gondoltoppen/Favn and Gaia are free. The cross lift at Moseter is also free to ride.

- How many lifts do you have in total in Hafjell Alpine Centre?

We have 1 gondola and 18 lifts. The 18 lifts are distributed as follows; 4 chairlifts, 5 T-hooks, 6 button lifts and 3 conveyor belts.

The gondola: 9 minutes and 13 seconds
Hafjellheis 1: 6 minutes and 9 seconds
Hafjellheis 2: 6 minutes and 7 seconds

- We have small children who have not skied much, where should we start skiing in the facility?

Take the gondola up to Gondoltoppen and Kids Favn which has 2 belt lifts, 2 wide and gentle slopes that are perfect for those without much experience. Here there are also elements such as switch to skiing. The belt lift allows even the very youngest to get up to the top. There are also several restaurants and a heated room as well as electric grills you can use, and there is also a children's area at the bottom, Knerten, which is also very nice for beginners and children. Here there is only a bowl lift and not a belt lift, but there is also a barbecue hut with benches.

- When do you prep the trails and how often?

The trails are prepared from 17.00-08-30 the next day, continuously.

Park and children's areas

- How many parks do you have in Hafjell?

There are a total of three terrain parks in Hafjell Alpine Center. One large, Main Park, located just south of Gondoltoppen and Favn. We also have two smaller parks for children, Frontyard and Backyard located on Gondoltoppen.

- How many children's areas do you have in Hafjell?

We have a children's area down at Skitorget in connection with Hafjell Ski School. We also have a fairly large children's area with several belt lifts at Gondoltoppen and Favn, as well as at Gaiastova (Kids Gaia). These areas have a belt lift/tunnels, children's figures and their own slopes.

- Are there forest trails at your place that are nice for children?

Yes. From the 21/22 season, we have, among other things, three new Isas forest trails. Two of these can be reached, among other things, by taking the Moseter lift and following the sign instructions from the top, as well as a very nice trail that goes under the lift route to Hafjell 360, which is called Isa's Cabin Trail. Here is Isa's cabin in the middle of the forest where you can stop and take a break on the slopes or even meet at Isa.

Toilet, shower and baby changing room

- Where are there toilets we can use in the facility?

There is a toilet down at Skitorget, in the gondola basement. There is also a separate toilet building at Gondoltoppen right at the exit to the gondola. The warming rooms in the facility also have toilets. There are also toilets you can use at all restaurants throughout the facility.

- Is there a baby changing room in the facility?

Cross-country skiing

- Where are your cross-country ski trails?

You can reach these already from Gondoltoppen/Favn/disembarkation of the gondola. From here, there is a lighted trail to Mosetertoppen Ski Stadium and further into Øyerfjellet. You can read more about the cross-country trails in Øyerfjellet here. When it comes to what has been skied and what is not, check skisporet.no as it is Øyer Turskiskiøyper who runs the cross-country trails in the mountains, not us. FYI: The Moseter lift must be used to reach the cross-country tracks in the season 21/22 due to the construction of Favn. If you buy a single trip with the gondola to go cross-country skiing, the Moseter lift is included in that price.

Drone

- I want to take video/film with a drone in the facility, is that okay?

We recommend everyone with such questions to check out the Civil Aviation Authority's pages for correct information about drone flying, https://luftfartstilsynet.no/droner/
There are very strict rules for flying drones where people travel, both for safety reasons and privacy. On a general basis, you should avoid flying over people or large crowds. If you have specific requests about this, please contact us.

Randonee, tobogganing and One Foot/mini skis

- I would like to go randonee, is it okay for us to go to the facility?

No. It is strictly forbidden to go randonee in the facility, both during opening hours and outside opening hours. This is for safety reasons. Trails and facilities are reserved for driving guests, either on snowboards or skis, and it is therefore not allowed to go up. It is also not allowed after closing time as we run prep and pedaling machines on slopes, which entails a great risk for both you and us. We urge people to comply with these rules.

- I ride a One Foot/mini ski, is it okay to use it in your facility?

For safety reasons, we only want people on alpine skis or boards in the facility, so here we refer people with mini skis to the toboggan run at the bottom of the facility, and not where you have to travel by lift.

Sustainability

- How do you work with sustainability in the destinations?

We have worked out a separate sustainability strategy for Alpinco. You can read more about this here.

In case of damage/accident

- I have injured myself/someone has injured themselves. What do I do?

If you are in the facility and are injured, you can get assistance from Hafjell Ski Patrol. Call (+47) 40 40 15 00. Alternatively, contact the nearest lift host, who will contact the ski patrol on internal communication.

Read more about safety and what to do if an accident occurs.

Transporting a dog in an elevator

Transport of dogs is only allowed in the Gondola. The dog must be kept on a leash and not be a nuisance to other guests. In cases where guests use tow lifts and let the dog run next to them, this is added as long as general rules regarding leash etc. are followed. Dogs on a slope are not allowed.
