Film screening // ON my terms

On Friday 20 March at 19.00, we will show the documentary about Lucas Braathen, and his path to a historic Olympic gold, in collaboration with Red Bull.

At the age of 23, the slalom's reigning World Cup champion Lucas Braathen made a decision that shocked the sports world: he retired at the pinnacle of his career. In the aftermath, the conflict with the Norwegian Ski Federation became clear – a federation he believed placed a tight framework around the athletes and left little room for individuality and self-expression.
A year without competition forced a showdown, and Lucas began to question both the system he came from and his own place in it: What does it really mean to compete, to win – and to belong?
When he returned, it was under his mother's Brazilian flag. The choice was radical and involved great personal and professional risk, but for Lucas an attempt to show that freedom, identity, creativity and authenticity can be reconciled with elite sports. An attempt to take the Brazilian flag to where it has never been before – at the top of the podium in alpine skiing.
Red Bull Media House, in collaboration with Next of Kin and EverWonder, has followed Lucas' path back to the top of the world – with the Brazilian flag on his shoulders.  On the journey to Milan-Cortina and historic victory, through pressure, expectations and doubts, you get to join Lucas in the fight for both freedom and success – on his own terms.

Welcome to an atmospheric movie night at Mett!

Practical info

Open and closed slopes: For the most part, all operations will run as normal on the slopes during the World Cup. The Olympic slope will of course be closed both a few days before and during the races. (Skiveien (4) will not open for the public during WC).

Parking: Parking will be as normal on the east and west sides. We encourage guests who live in the mountains to take the lift down. It's important to allow plenty of time before the races. There will also be parking available in the finish area.

Lifts: If you are going to use the lift down to see the races from the finish area, we recommend allowing PLENTY of time. The same applies to the return up the mountain. On Friday 20. and Saturday 21. March, the following lifts will run until 17.30: A, B, C, M and N (we remind you that it is not allowed to take the lift in a visibly intoxicated state).

Shuttle buses: On Saturday, shuttle buses will run from the west side and the mid-station down to the finish area at 10:00, 10:15, 11:30, and 11:45. Return to the west side is at 14:30; return to the mid-station is via lift.

We ask you as guests of the destination during the World Cup weekends to respect the barriers that have been set up.

Thank you very much, and welcome to the World Cup!
