Travel to Kvitfjell

Kvitfjell is located in Fåvang, Ringebu municipality in Innlandet county.

The improvements on the E6 towards Gudbrandsdalen have made the journey to Kvitfjell significantly faster, more efficient and more comfortable to drive. With its own train station (Kvitfjell station), it is now also possible to travel environmentally friendly and smoothly to Kvitfjell.

Distances and time spent

Distance and time have been measured to Gudbrandsgard Hotel at Mellomstasjonen in Kvitfjell. It takes about the same amount of time to drive to Vestsiden and Varden.

News: Transfer from Kvitfjell Station to Gudbrandsgard and Skitorget

In 2022, Kvitfjell station reopened for arrivals and departures by train to Kvitfjell. We have set up transfers to/from the station on selected departures.

From the north
When you get to Fåvang, you drive off to Kvitfjell. Drive the bridge over Gudbrandsdalslågen, and follow the winding road uphill, before it flattens out a short distance, and further becomes winding again the last bit up towards Mellomstasjonen. The road ends at the ski resort and Gudbrandsgard Hotel.

From the south
Drive off to Fåvang, and turn left towards Kvitfjell. Pass 2 roundabouts and drive the bridge over Gudbrandsdalslågen, past Fåvang station and continue uphill towards Kvitfjell Mellomstasjon.

Krystallen: A little after the intersection Ringebu/Fåvang/Kvitfjell, turn left towards Krystallen and Skafløttvegen. The road ends at Krystallen.

Gudbrandsgard Hotel, Kvitfjell Hotel, Krystallen, Gudbrandsgard hyttegrend, Gammelseteråsen, Karihaugen and Kariberget are located at Mellomstasjonen.

Driving to the West Side

Address: Svinslåvegen 107, 2634 Fåvang (Skitorget at the bottom of the West Side).

If you are coming from the south or north: exit in Fåvang, and drive the bridge over Gudbrandsdalslågen towards Kvitfjell, past Fåvang station and continue a short distance uphill. After a couple of minutes, the road flattens out, and you will see an exit to Kvitfjell Vest on your left. Follow the road uphill.

Here you will pass Studio H, Skitorget (free parking lot), drive under a Gondola and past Yttersvingen. Here you have the west side on your right and Varden on your left.

Studio H, Yttersvingen, Segelstadsetra, Bjønnlia and Nirvana are located on the west side.

Driving to Varden

Address: Varden 310, 2634 Fåvang (Varden Restaurant at the top of Varden).

If you are coming from the south or north: exit in Fåvang, and drive the bridge over Gudbrandsdalslågen towards Kvitfjell, past Fåvang station and continue a short distance uphill. After a couple of minutes, the road flattens out, and you will see an exit to Kvitfjell Vest on your left. Follow the road uphill.

Here you will pass Studio H, Skitorget (free parking lot), drive under a Gondola and past Yttersvingen. Here you have the west side on the right hand side and Varden on the left. At the junction after Yttersvingen, turn left towards Varden.

Varden Mountain Village is located on Varden. Address: Vardenvegen (your cabin number), 2634 Fåvang.

BUS, TRAIN AND TAXI

Train to Kvitfjell Station

You can travel by train to Kvitfjell with all northbound and southbound routes that go towards Trondheim / Oslo. On selected departures, you can take a bus from the station to Gudbrandsgard or Skitorget.
