This summer's news in Kvitfjell

Kvitfjell is not just a winter paradise, the summers are just as fantastic! There is little that beats fresh mountain air in the summer and in Kvitfjell you can combine this with many exciting experiences. With proximity to several fun attractions and with the mountain itself as an attraction, it is a popular holiday destination for many families in the summer.

This year we are also launching several exciting news!

"The Master of the Family" – fun with meaning

Together with the Science Centre Innlandet, we are launching "The Champion of the Family", which is a set of fun and challenging installations inspired by the TV show The Master of Champions. Here, young and old will solve science-oriented tasks together, everything from thought puzzles to practical challenges. The installations can be found both at Skitorget and at Gudbrandsgard Hotel.

Climbing wall

This summer, we are setting up a six-meter high climbing wall at Skitorget! Here you can test both courage and technique, with safe self-belay systems and climbing equipment for rent. Whether you're climbing to the top or just want to feel the height, this is an activity full of mastery and fun.

Nature trail with learning and play

We create nature trails at both Skitorget and Gudbrandsgard, also in collaboration with the Science Centre Innlandet. Fun tasks and activities await you for the whole family, adapted to different ages and skill levels.

Frisbee golf – with the mountain as a course!

Frisbee golf has taken the country by storm and now also Kvitfjell! We set up 2 courses so that you and your family or group of friends can move through the mountains in a new and fun way. Frisbees can be bought at the ski market, so here you just have to throw yourself into it!

Bicycle

Kvitfjell offers many nice cycling opportunities in the summer. If you don't have your own bike or want to try something new, we have great, fully damped electric bikes for rent here. These bikes are great for those who want to go on a trip into the mountains with a little extra help and they work well on both trail and gravel roads. We also have electric bikes for children, so there are great opportunities to get even further with a little less breathing and panting.

New this summer is that there will also be a fun bike trail for the little ones at Skitorget, consisting of simple obstacles and challenges.

Weatherproof

This summer, you can book guided tours and exciting activities in the mountains with our local partner, Værfast. Also remember to visit their charming café in the center of the village center of Ringebu.

The Laupar Festival

The Laupar Festival takes place in Kvitfjell on 25 and 26 July, and is really a running party for the whole family! On these two days, there will be one uphill race, two cross-country races in the mountains, one children's race and one lecture. Read more about the festival here , and sign up!

Interactive Hiking Map

Use your phone as a GPS and embark on great hikes in the mountains. We have put some of the most beautiful hikes in Kvitfjell on an interactive map, with tour descriptions, so you can easily find the finest gems. There are tour suggestions both on foot and on wheels.

Restaurant and food offer

This year, Tyrihanstunet will also be open during the summer season. An atmospheric yard right in the heart of Kvitfjell west where it is great to both sit inside or outside and enjoy good food and coffee. A meal here can also be combined with the fun activities that we set up at Skitorget.

Gudbrandsgard hotel will be open from the Laupar Festival, 25-26 July. An adventurous hotel with magnificent views, pool, gym and restaurants. A perfect base for an active stay in late summer.

At Sport1 Kvitfjell you will be able to rent climbing harnesses and buy frisbees for the frisbee golf. Here you will also find a rich selection of hiking clothes and equipment. Sport1 Kvitfjell is located at Skitorget and is open daily from week 27.

And did we mention that it is a short travel distance to both Hunderfossen, Lilleputthammer, Lillehammer city center, Maihaugen, the Art Museum and many other sights?
