The ski train connects Hafjell, Kvitfjell and Oppdal for the third season in a row
Hafjell, Kvitfjell and Oppdal continue their development in sustainable transport. The ski train, which is operated by SJ Norway along the Dovre Line, is back for the third season. The train connects the three destinations in an efficient and environmentally friendly way and strengthens the joint offer that the three destinations share through one lift pass.
Sustainable transport and experiences
Espen Rønning, Marketing Manager at Alpinco, emphasizes the importance of Skitoget as part of the Alpinco family's sustainable investment:
"The ski train gives us a unique opportunity to connect the destinations and give guests a seamless travel experience. At the same time, it is a strong symbol of our commitment to sustainability. Seeing a train foiled with our destinations and logos whizzing through Gudbrandsdalen is also a fantastic branding that makes us visible far beyond the region."
Environmental savings in focus
The ski train is not only a convenient travel solution, but also a significant contribution to reducing the carbon footprint of winter tourism. A train journey from Oslo to Kvitfjell emits only 1.6 kg of CO2 per person, compared to 20-30 kg when transporting by car. This provides a drastic reduction in emissions and makes it easier for more people to choose climate-friendly alternatives when visiting the mountain destinations.
"If we are to achieve our goals of 50% emission cuts by 2030, we need help from our guests. Therefore, it is important for us to facilitate that our destinations have a good connection to the railway," Rønning continues.
New for the season
Ole Kristian Kirkerud, general manager of Hafjell Kvitfjell Alpint, is looking forward to another exciting year for the train:
"In addition to the ordinary trains, we now also have charter trains linked to the World Cup event in Kvitfjell. This gives both the audience and participants a fantastic opportunity to travel directly to the mountain festival in a climate-friendly way."

The Dovre Line: A green link and international attraction
Jonas Bjørnerud, commercial manager at Alpinco, highlights how the Dovre Line both creates a green connection between Hafjell, Kvitfjell and Oppdal, and increases its attractiveness on the international market:
"The acquisition of Oppdal Ski Center gives us the opportunity to realize our goal of seamless access to three unique ski destinations. With the Dovre Line as a link, we can now offer our guests flexible, green, world-class travel options."
With the option to fly to Trondheim Airport Værnes, take the train to Oppdal and further between Hafjell and Kvitfjell, before returning from Oslo Airport Gardermoen, Alpinco offers a seamless and flexible product. This combination of easily accessible destinations and sustainable transport creates great interest among international ski enthusiasts, who want to experience several of Norway's best ski resorts in one and the same trip. This strengthens our position as a leading player in the European ski travel market.
Stronger together
With the Ski Train, a common lift pass and an increased focus on green transport, Alpinco makes it easier than ever for guests to experience all that Hafjell, Kvitfjell and Oppdal have to offer. The train ensures comfortable transportation and reduces the carbon footprint for ski tourists who want world-class experiences in the mountains.
