We want our guests, throughout the customer journey, to be able to make sustainable choices. Through our strategy, we have set ourselves some clear goals for our sustainability work towards 2030.
This is an excerpt of this strategy that summarizes our priority areas that we believe are important and that we are working on.
Our prioritized sustainability goals
Based on this, we have set our own internal goals that we are working towards
Climate and environment
Cut CO2 emissions by using new technology and modern mechanical equipment with low CO2 emissions.
For parts of the machinery fleet and for lighter vehicles that use fossil fuels, it will be cut by switching to biofuels, or in the long term, electric machines.
In snow production, hydropower is primarily used, which produces low emissions, and energy consumption is reduced through the use of modern control systems, and new production equipment that requires little energy.
We will take care of untouched areas through sustainable land use.
Socially
Lifestyle diseases are a global trend, also in Norway. We will be an arena for physical expression, for everyone, regardless of age, skills and physical health . It is specially adapted for children and young people in the local community.
We will continue to cultivate cooperation with different groups around us to create less inequality, and our activities will contribute to strengthening the local community through active collaboration with municipalities and the actors around us.
Economic sustainability
Economic growth is important for development - it creates new jobs and tax revenues, and growth must both take into account people's needs and stay within nature's tolerance limits.
We will find solutions that ensure secure jobs and economic growth by working for and creating year-round destinations, while at the same time cutting emissions and encroachment on nature.
CURRENT AFFAIRS
We at Hafjell and Kvitfjell are concerned that our guests should be able to make sustainable choices when visiting our destinations. In all our mountains, it must be visible that we work for clean mountains.
A lot is done over a whole year, which helps to reinforce our sustainable choices. Everything from school collaboration in the local municipalities to recycling, charging stations, automated snow systems and much more.
