Autumn in Oppdal
Treat yourself to a trip to the mountains this autumn and in Oppdal is easier than you think. Surrounded by fantastic mountains and valleys, it is easy to find a hiking destination or several that suit the whole family. The area around the mountain village of Oppdal is very well organized and offers a short distance to experience the magnificent mountains of Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park and not least Trollheimen.
Amazing hikes
Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park and Trollheimen offer endless hiking opportunities - both short and long. Whether you choose to take the Gondola to the top in Hovden and continue the trip from there, or if you choose one of the many excursion parking in the mountains, you will find magnificent mountain areas with great hiking trails and spectacular views in almost all directions.

All the way to the top of Hovden in Oppdal Ski Center for great views and the restaurant The Hill 1125. Here you will find pizza and other dishes. The gondola is adapted for bicycles, strollers and wheelchairs, and can be used to cycle the way down or go down hiking trails. It is open on weekends throughout the autumn - as well as the autumn holidays. Always check the weather forecast before traveling, as it may be closed in case of bad weather.

MOSKUS at Dovrefjell
Experience the musk ox in its element, with experienced guides who take care of both your and the animals' wishes in a safe way. Dovrefjell National Park is the only place in Norway, and one of the few places in the world, where musk oxen live, and Oppdal Safari's guides know where the musk oxen are at almost all times. Join a guided group tour to see musk oxen and stunning scenery.


Bike tours for everyone
Oppdal is also a perfect destination for great bike rides. A short distance from Oppdal city center you will find Oppdal Cycling Arena, which is a newer facility with flow paths, jumps and cliffs, with trails graded from easy (green) to demanding (red), and which is open to everyone. There are also plenty of gravel roads - so there are plenty of hiking destinations both close to the city center and the longer trips. In addition, there is a large trail network in both forest and high mountains, with trails that go from technically demanding to fast and playful. Remember to always respect local rules and traffic in the terrain.
Play Golf in oppdal
In Oppdal you will find a 9-hole forest course that is idyllically located to 2 km north/east of Oppdal center, in the Leisure Park. The course has 18 tees and is run as an 18-hole course. The course is located in birch and pine forest with fantastic views of majestic mountains. Enjoy the game and the amazing views!

SNØHETTA VIEWPOINT
Visitor center Snøhetta Viewpoint in Dovrefjell. It is free to visit and information can be found from along the 20-30 minutes and 1.5km long trail up to the adventurous view of Snøhetta. Here you can also go in and sit down and listen to short lectures in season.
Viewpoint opens on June 1 and is open until mid-October
