  • Total ascent: 494 m
  • Start-stop: Gudbrandsgard Hotel

The route goes through easy and beautiful mountain terrain on a nice mountain road, tractor road and old traffic road through the mountain forest and open mountain pastures.

The round around Digeråsen is a nice extension of the Gumpen route. If you come from Gumpen, you get Digeråsen right in front of you. Take in the first tractor road that goes in a north-westerly direction. The route slopes uphill on the north side of Digeråsen through the mountain forest. The landscape opens up at the top with old mountain pastures and pastures, and you get a fantastic view west towards Vendalshøgda and Gausdalsberga. One glance north and you will see Gumpenberga, the bare rock knolls that protrude clearly visible from the mountain forest, which is special to this part of the area. With good speed through the mountain pasture landscape, you come down to Vendalen. Head south again on a nice gravel road towards Fagerhøi. The beautiful landscape is a delight to the eye and you step a little extra towards Vendalsvannet. The lake is an idyllic gem and a natural stopping place to view nature before turning onto the mountain farm road right at the mouth of the lake. Setervegen turns into a larger and nice path that is fantastic to cycle on both for the exerciser or the whole family. Through slightly hilly terrain, the road goes through sheltered mountain forest and past some idyllic ponds. With a little courage, you pedal over Vangsbekken and up a small bend before pedaling lightly on a nice path downhill and into the cultural landscape at Svinslåa. Starting from Gudbrandsgard, you pedal the nice gravel road up a small hill and then get a comfortable descent, before rounding on the lower side of Hestknappen and back on the east side of Kvitfjell.

Storfjellet

This route is well suited for the more experienced cyclists who want to experience a fantastic ride combined with challenging and technical cycling in different types of terrain. It is recommended to take the route as it is described. Total distance 38.6 km. Total ascent 1033 m.

•   Total distance: 38.6 km
•   Total ascent: 1033 m
•   Start-stop: Gudbrandsgard Hotel

Starting from Gudbrandsgard, follow the bicycle signs until Svinslåa. Then there will be plenty of downhill slopes and great speed on a nice mountain road southeast down towards Kvitfjell west. Then follow the mountain farm road towards Veslesætra and Myrsætra over the roaring river Svinåa. Here the hard uphills begin on a nice gravel road. It is recommended to take the rough tractor road straight up to Veslfjellet. Once up on the bare mountain, you get a real panoramic view back towards Kvitfjell west and parts of Rondane. With light pedals into the mountain, the road goes all the way to Skardbua. Here you are on the bike network to Skeikampen and have many opportunities for technical cycling either to Skeikampen or Fagerhøi over Slagsfjella. The route continues up the steep hill up towards Svartvatnet and further inland on a small but very nice and narrow bike path that offers good technical cycling. This part of the Peer Gynt kingdom is a fantastic eldorado for the bicycle lover. Wonderful surface on narrow and winding paths as well as a great view of Rondane in the north. Once past Svartvatnet, you take off on a new path east on the north side of Båndseterkampen. Follow this for about a kilometer before the small path bends sharply down into the valley towards Myrsætra. For the brave, it is okay to cycle all the way, but be a little careful in the steep terrain. After a couple of kilometers, you enter the mountain forest again and onto a tractor road down towards Myrsætra. Here the journey goes quickly north again, over the saddle and down towards Kvitfjell west. The last bit up again to Svinslåa and back to Gudbrandsgard is relaxing after the technical activities at Storfjellet.

Gumpenrunden

The route is a nice family trip with simple challenges in a beautiful mountain and mountain pasture landscape. Total distance is 21.5 km. Total ascent 386 m.

On nice gravel roads from Gudbrandsgard hotel, the road goes northwest in beautiful mountain terrain. The route enters a well-prepared and wide path in hilly terrain over to the mountain road between Svinslåa and Nysætra. Turn right towards Nysætra and you get some gentle downhills towards Nysætra and a great view into Rondane. The round continues towards Ormsætra, but takes off at the intersection towards Breidstultjønnet. Here the route continues on an old thoroughfare over to Gumpen. On a wide and historic path, the journey goes down towards Gumpen. Some technical and steep sections, but not worse than that it is a nice family trip. Well down by the water's edge and Gumpen is a gem of a picnic area. The route now goes south. An old tractor road leads the route further towards Svinslåa between Digeråsen and Storhaugen. Here there are opportunities to take some alternative and longer routes towards Gålå or around Digeråsen and Vendalen. If you want to take a more technical route, you can turn left on a small path up and over Storhaugen. The old tractor road turns into a gravel road that leads the route to Svinslåa. In beautiful and old mountain farm surroundings you have a great view down to Kvitfjell west, Slagsfjella and Storfjellet in the south. From Svinslåa you follow the farm road back towards Nysætra with descent in easy terrain back to the starting point Gudbrandsgard hotel.

Skardbua – Fagerhøi

This route is well suited for the more experienced cyclists who want to experience a fantastic trip with challenging and technical cycling in different types of terrain. By combining the route to Storfjellet, you can get a wonderful cycling experience from Skardbua over to Fagerhøi (See description Storfjellet to Skardbua). Total distance 46.7 m. Total ascent 923 m.

•   Total distance: 46.7 km
•   Total ascent: 923 m
•   Start-stop: GudbrandsGård Hotel

At Skardbua, mountain biking begins on very nice and demanding trails that go up towards Slagfjella and further towards Røgnhøgda before descending towards Fagerhøi. The trails are at times very demanding, and provide a real challenge for the cycling enthusiast. Some sections can certainly be difficult and steep, so that sometimes you have to get off the bike and roll certain sections.

Once over the bare mountain and up on Røgnhøgda you have a fantastic view of Rondane, Synnfjellet, Jotunheimen and the rest of the Peer Gynt kingdom. The descent from Røgnhøgda and down towards Fagerhøi offers a wonderful fast-paced descent on a narrow and nice path. From Fagerhøi, you roll easily on the way down to Vendalen and follow the route around Digeråsen into Svinslåa and back to the starting point.
