How to rent a bike
Our bike rental has a wide selection of different bike types so that you can get the best possible experience for the cycling you want to do here with us. To make it easier for you to choose the right bike, we have made an overview here with a more detailed description of our bikes and what use they are best suited for. All our bikes are of the highest quality, and the latest model from Scott Bikes.
Opening hours for rental
For the summer of 2025, we are merging our two previous landlords, into one. This will be on Favn, at the gondola top.
On green opening days, you can rent downhill bikes from 09:30, and keep them until hand-in, which is 15:30.
On all opening days, you can rent trail, electric, terrain and gravel bikes from 09:30, and keep them until the drop-off time which is 18:00.
On blue opening days, the rental is staffed until 15:00, so bikes must be picked up before this.

Here are three simple steps to your booking of bicycles in Hafjell Bicycle Rental:
1. Your height determines the size
In order for your cycling experience to be the best possible, it is important that you choose a bike that is the right size for you. That's why we have a recommended height for each size and type of bike, which you'll see when you book. So if you are 175cm tall, you should choose a bike that says "170-180" on it. If you are exactly between two sizes, e.g. 180 tall, then we recommend choosing the smallest size if you do not have much experience from before.
2. Types of bikes – what type of bike should you choose?
With us you can rent several types of bikes:
- Downhill bikes - These are for use in the Bike Park and can be rented at Favn. Full face helmet and protective gear are included.
- E-, trail, mountain and gravel bikes - Can be rented at Favn, at the gondola top, these bikes are intended for use on Øyerfjellet's trails and gravel roads. Helmet included.
- Children's bikes - At Favn bike rental, we also have a good selection of children's bikes from 2-8 years old for use in the pump track and Isa Bike Park. These can be rented on an hourly basis without reservation - NOK 95 per hour.
- Downhill bikes

Specially made for downhill fun, our downhill bikes are the type of bike to choose if you want a fast-paced day at Hafjell Bike Park. All our downhill bikes are of the same type, there is the Scott Gambler for adults, and the Scott Ransom for children. These are rugged bikes that allow you to roll and fly over terrain and obstacles in a way you didn't think possible. A day on a downhill bike at Hafjell Bike Park is a fantastic experience for anyone who can ride a regular bike. Full face helmet and protective gear are included, so get ready for an unforgettable experience on your downhill bike!
You can pick up these bikes at Favn rental, from 09:30.
- Trail, E-Bike, Off-Road & Gravel Bikes

In the category E-bikes and trail bikes, we have a selection of a number of different bikes, based on the type of trips you want to ride. There is also a selection of children's bicycles here.
Due to increased wear and tear, we do not want the bikes in this category to be used on our downhill trails in the lift facility, with the exception of green trails. If you are going to cycle downhill, you get a much better experience on our downhill bikes, which are specially made for the purpose.
These bikes are picked up from Favn rental, at the top of the gondola, from 09:30.
Trail bikes:
Our trail bikes are of the Scott Genius type, it is a versatile trail bike that is excellent for exploring Øyerfjellet's fantastic trail network. It's a bike with 150mm of travel both front and rear, with a design that makes it fun to ride both uphill and downhill with. Lockable dampers also make it roll easily and smoothly on the beautiful, endless gravel roads in our mountains. Choose this bike if you want to do varied cycling in the mountains without a motor, and thus keep the playfulness on the downhills.
FULL SUSPENSION E-BIKES
Our full suspension e-bikes are Scott Patron, a great tool for those who want to explore new trails and areas without struggling too the uphills. It offers a high level of comfort on the trail, without compromising on performance. With the market's coolest motor, Bosch Performance CX, this bike will give you amazing experiences, and take you to new heights! Choose this bike if you want to try your hand at motorized trail riding. We guarantee that you will have a raw experience on this bike.
E-BIKES
In the category of electric bikes, we have a selection from children's bikes to adult bikes. All models in this category are so-called hardtail bikes, without a rear shock, and are perfect for long nice rides on gravel roads and easy trails. Here we also have children's bikes available, which means that juniors can also experience the power of an electric bike. Your height determines what size you should have.
AXIS eRide:
Scott Axis is suitable for those who want a more comfortable sitting position, and a slightly slower pace on the trip. This bike is versatile, and has a luggage rack for those who want to bring a little extra on the trip. It also has mudguards that mean you don't get messy if it's wet.
Bergamont E-Revox junior:
Take the kids on an unforgettable trip! These are available in both 24" and 26" and are suitable from approx. 8 years.
MOUNTAIN BIKES:
In the mountain bike category, you will find our "regular" mountain bikes. There are top-quality mountain bikes from Scott, which also allow you to explore the mountain in a wonderful way. Without a motor, you have to work a bit more uphill, but they are light and nice, and are a cheaper alternative than our electric bikes and full suspensions. Here we also have sizes all the way down to 20'', which are suitable from about 5 years, perfect if you want to take a trip out into the forest from the gondola top with the whole family.
Gravel bikes:
The Scott Speedster Gravel 20 can take you on new gravel adventures! With comfortable geometry, style and performance, this one will get you moving forward quickly. Get ready for the summer's adventures on gravel and forest roads.

In the order, you will receive information about where and when to pick up the bike. Our staff will meet you with a smile and help you with helmets, protection and hiking tips.
