New and free solution for trail information

After a thorough assessment in collaboration with Skeikampen and Gålå, it has been decided that information about trail preparation for the coming winter season will be disseminated through Lø yper.net. This means that all our guests receive free and updated information about cross-country trails – directly online, without the need for an app download or payment.

Open and user-friendly platform

Previously, Kvitfjell has used Skisporet, but after the merger with Skiforeningen/Marka, the service has become a payment solution. Therefore, we have chosen to switch to Lø yper.net, which offers an open and user-friendly platform.

For us, it is important that information about trail status is easily accessible and free of charge, both for our Norwegian and foreign guests. We want to make it as easy as possible to plan a good skiing experience with us, says Rune Osvold, Destination Manager at Kvitfjell.

Sat yper.net uses GPS transmitters to show updated status on groomed trails. The system is free to use for guests, while the destination covers the cost of the GPS transmitters.

You do not need to download an app to access the course information. Go to Sat yper.net in your browser and save it as a shortcut on your phone, or select install. Then you have everything easily accessible the next time you go on a trip.

LONG EXPERIENCE AND SOLID OWNERS

Behind Lø yper.net is FMS Nordic AS, which has extensive experience with GPS-based tracking services for cross-country skiing, snowmobile trails and dog sledding, both in Norway and Sweden. In Sweden, most major destinations use Lø yper.net, with the exception of Vasaloppet.

Lø yper.net is a flexible, stable and robust solution with all the necessary functions. We use GPS units from Finnish Aplicom – with a lifetime warranty," explains Gaute Langaas of FMS Nordic AS.

A FUTURE-PROOF SOLUTION

FMS Nordic reports customers who have used Lø yper.net for a number of years with very good experiences. In light of the fact that Skisporet is now being closed down, and that the new payment solution Sporet from the Ski Association requires payment per user, many see destinations towards Lø yper.net as a natural and customer-friendly alternative.

We have little faith in models where users have to pay for access to trail information. A family of four should not have to pay several hundred kroner just to check the trail status. This is information that should be free for everyone who visits the mountain, says Gaute Langaas in FMS Nordic AS.
