Bathing areas

There are many nice swimming spots in Kvitfjell that are suitable for a quick dip after a run or as a swimming spot for the family.

Raudskuttjønnet

This bathing water is located in Raudskuttvegen on the way to the top of the west side. A great bathing water that is easy both to see and find. In addition, there is a small bridge over a stream here that is the perfect starting point for a deck chair or a bath.

Driving: drive up Raudskuttvegen from Kvitfjell West. You will find this road by continuing straight ahead past Skitorget and Yttersvingen, and continuing straight up the winding slopes. You will find Tjønnet at the very top of the road, on the right side.

Walking: you can walk up Raudskuttvegen, or down, depending on where you live, and find the pond right by the road at the top of Raudskuttvegen.

Bånsetra and the dams

Drive down to the west side towards Fåvang, on the road between Fåvang and Tretten. Drive further uphill and pass an automatic barrier. Here there is the opportunity for nice hikes, bike rides, swimming and fishing spots.

Bånsetra: Here you can walk to Bånseterkampene for a short trip, and all the way to Skeikampen via Prestkampen for a longer trip.
The dams: consists of 3 ponds where it is nice to swim and fish. There is also a lean-to here.

Svarttjønnet

Nice hiking destination with swimming and fishing opportunities.

Driving: You can drive up at the environmental station at Mellomstasjonen, past a barrier (approx. NOK 50). Then drive towards Nysetra (not Ormsetra) and follow the road straight ahead through the fields. There is parking at a cross-country sign. Then it's about a 5 minute walk downhill.

Walking: it is possible to walk down from Kvitfjelltoppen, over Hestknappen or along Hestknappen by following the cross-country tracks.

Bjønnlitjønnet

Incredibly beautiful bathing water with a great view straight up on Kvitfjellet itself! The water up here is so clear that you can almost touch the fish under the water.

Walking: the easiest is to walk up Bjønnlitjønnvegen. A steep trip if you start down at Skitorget on the west side, but with good rewards. If you live in Bjønnlia, it is easy to find, at the end of Bjønnlitjønnvegen.
