Reputable magazine

General manager of Hafjell Sommer and former downhill cyclist, Knut Løkås, says this was an incredibly pleasant surprise.

- Cycling magazines do such awards from time to time, but to be so high up and nod as number 15 of all places in the whole world and ride a bike is absolutely awesome! MBUK is a recognized magazine, and they have cycled in many places in the world," he says.

And it's a celebrity company on this list. Among the other destinations on the list are places such as Sierra de Madrid in Spain, the French Alps, Queenstown in New Zealand, Verbier in Switzerland and the huge Whistler in Canada.

In first place is, for the record, Portes du Soleil in France.

Great variety

There are several points that are highlighted in the article that make Hafjell end up on this list. The fact that Hafjell Bike Park has gained a huge variety in recent years, from hefty downhill trails to gentle flow trails is of course significant, and the good combination with the proximity to the fantastic opportunities Øyerfjellet offers is also an important factor for Hafjell to deserve a place here, according to MBUK.

- We started with some simple jumps and trails for enthusiasts. From there, we have constantly grown and will continue to grow more. To be recognized in such good company is very gratifying, says something about what we have succeeded with. Now it's just a matter of "keeping going", says Løkås.
